I’m Yumin — the person behind Passport & Pen.
Fair warning: I don’t have this fully figured out. If I sit still too long, I want to leave. If I’m away too long, I want to go home. It’s not wanderlust, really — it’s closer to plain fickleness, and at some point I stopped fighting it.
Where that doesn’t show up, though, is in how I actually travel. I don’t do weekend trips. I stay. Three nights, a week, sometimes longer, in small towns most people give half a day. I always crave a good coffee, a proper breakfast, and a small museum that gives me an unexpected, pleasant surprise.
I get bored fast with things once they get easy (ask any job I’ve had), but travel hasn’t done that to me yet — small cities especially haven’t. And when I meet people who’ve happily settled there forever, it somehow consoles my restless soul.
I go alone, usually with no plan past the flight landing. I write here — Passport & Pen — so I don’t lose the version of a place that only shows up once you’ve stuck around long enough to stop being a tourist.
